Inspired by the Fragrance Families in the perfume industry our scientists have developed five new body butters. Formulated with nourishing ingredients like Shea Butter, Glycerin and Vitamin E, each of our new body butters have been fragranced with Floral, Fresh, Fruity, Gourmand or Fougère scents.
Fragrance Families
The perfume universe is divided into ‘Fragrance Families’, and often without even realizing, we tend to fall for one family time and again. Instinctively, we prefer scents from some fragrance families and dislike others, although we may tend towards one particular family for colder weather and another for sunny times.
Fragrance Families are a classification system that the perfume industry has used for years to place individual perfumes into olfactory categories based on their dominant characteristics - it’s part of the language of scent. The five standard families consist of Floral, Gourmand, Fougère, Fruity and Fresh, with the former three families being more classic while the latter two consist of newer, bright and clean smelling citrus and oceanic fragrances.
Floral: With its natural scent, the floral note is one of the most widely used in women’s perfumes. They usually smell like fresh-cut flowers or have a powdery note to them. The floral bouquet fragrance family is a combination of several flowers in a scent.
Fresh: The newest category in perfume history, scents in the Fresh Fragrance Family are clean, uncomplicated and modern scents. Herbaceous, citrus and oceanic scents all fall into this category. These fragrances are characterized by their freshness and lightness.
Fruity: Fruity fragrances mimic the scent of either the juice, zest or blossom of fruit. Sweet, juicy and edible, the Fruity Fragrance Family includes original scents of a unique sensuality.
Gourmand: Scents with dessert-like qualities, Gourmand fragrances often contain notes like vanilla. They stand out because of their unique blend of warmth and sensuality. They draw their richness from heady substances like musk and precious woods, and are often associated with exotic floral and spicy scents.
Fougère: Characterized by its sharp herbaceous and woody scent, Fougère is a translation of 'fern' in French. These scents give perfumes or products a complex and refined structure. Today, many men's fragrances belong to the Fougère Fragrance Family.
Floral: Evening Orchid
Evening Orchid is scented with a floral bouquet and is enhanced with Chamomile to soothe and protect your skin. Enriched with Shea Butter and Vitamin E, this nourishing formula will intensely moisturize and replenish your skin.
Chamomile: As an anti-inflammatory, it helps to reduce skin redness and soothe inflammation. A natural antioxidant, this ant-aging ingredient also protects the skin against the free radicals that cause aging.

Fresh: Pacific Fresh

Fruity: Nectarine Blush
Eucalyptus: A natural anti-inflammatory, it helps to calm skin redness, reduce irritation and soothe inflammation. Rich in antibacterial properties, it also helps to cleanse, purify and clarify the skin.

Gourmand: Vanilla Hibiscus
