I love the oil, but the smell is a bit overwhelming. Kind of like anything that had Tea Tree Oil in it.
I am over age 65 and have very sensitive skin. Winter is brutal for fighting off dry skin. This winter it was flaking it was so bad. I decided to try the Emu oil and what a difference that made. I don’t use it daily, maybe 3 times a week, but it instantly feels and looks much better.

I really like the product but I do not like the packaging. I bought it in a few forms the pump and I believe a small bottle. I found it hard to get out of the pump especially. I wonder if Kalaya will consider using other packaging. The last time I went to healthy planet I bought another brand because I had difficulty with the pump. It is always kept in a room temperature place and I think that I have had to waste a fair amount of product because of this difficulty with the pump. I see other people have the same problem
I began using this when chemotherapy treatments were making my skin even more dry. I have never stopped! Use it on my face, hands, rough spots! Excellent product.

I love the oil but the pump on the bottle plugged up and broke pretyy quickly. I can still get the oil out but it was expensive and the bottle pump was defective.

I’m sorry to hear about the problems you’re having with the pump on your KaLaya Natural Oil Blend Emu Oil not working. The issue of clogging in the pump for the Emu Oil is actually quite a common one, and is most frequently caused when the fat solids in the Emu Oil begin to solidify and clog the pump. This is because Emu Oil is a very temperature-sensitive oil and is quite similar to coconut oil in that it will thicken or solidify when it reaches temperatures below roughly 18°c. You may notice small white flecks or lumps in the oil; this is perfectly normal as these are the natural fat solids in the oil clustering together, however they are likely what is causing the issues with the pump clogging and not working properly! We have tried out several different types and sizes of pumps with our emu oil over the years and have had the same result if the emu oil is not warm enough to be in a completely smooth, liquid state.
What I would recommend is to gently warm up the oil to see if there is any improvement in the function of the pump. The best way to do this and to return the oil to a smooth consistency when it has thickened and clogged the pump is to put the bottle (or just the pump) in a zip-lock bag and place it in a bowl of warm to hot (but not scalding!) water, or hold it under warm running water for a few minutes to let the lumps of fat solids melt and unclog the pump. This gentle re-heating does not compromise effectiveness of your emu oil, nor will it cause it to expire sooner!
We also recommend always keeping the emu oil in a dry, consistently room-temperature area. Bathrooms and kitchens are not the best place to store any temperature-sensitive products as the room temperature is always fluctuating from running hot water from the shower or sink or while cooking.
